A 14-day Sri Lanka itinerary is the gold standard for a deep, immersive journey. You will have time to visit the cultural triangle, the central highlands, both coasts, and even venture north to Jaffna. Expect longer driving days, but the reward is a true end-to-end experience.
Days 1–2: Negombo & Anuradhapura. Begin with the sacred Bodhi tree and ancient dagobas of Sri Lanka's first capital.
Days 3–4: Sigiriya & Polonnaruwa. Lion Rock, Dambulla, the ancient city, and Minneriya safari.
Day 5: Kandy. Temple of the Tooth, botanical gardens, cultural dance.
Days 6–7: Nuwara Eliya & Ella. Tea estates, Gregory Lake, the scenic train, Nine Arches Bridge, Little Adam's Peak.
Day 8: Yala Safari. Private afternoon leopard safari in Yala National Park.
Days 9–10: Mirissa & Galle. Beach time, whale watching, and the historic Galle Fort.
Days 11–12: Tangalle or Hiriketiya. Slow days on a more secluded southern beach.
Days 13–14: Colombo or Hill Country Retreat. Final night of pampering, then transfer to the airport.
